The contemporary art project SHe, directed by Chinese artist Shengwei ZHOU during these 6 years till 2018, consists of two parts.

The 95-minute stop animation, SHe, tells a story of a high heel mother shoe, who survived in an authoritarian world dominated by male shoes, bringing up her daughter shoe. This film has been nominated for the best animation film in the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival in China, and it has been selected for the competition section in the 42nd Montreal International Film Festival in Canada and for the new talent section in the 24th L’Étrange Festival in France.

The contemporary art exhibition SHe, which shows some of settings and characters of the film, has been displaying in Onehome Art Hotel Shanghai. All the works of art by Zhou Shengwei in this art exhibition was collected by the famous How Art Museum in Shanghai.

Shengwei ZHOU, born in 1991, got his B. A. and M. A. in Peking University.
